Manual entry

Data can be entered into OxonStat much as you would for any other computer program. The only important thing to do first is choose your column types before you start entering your data. By default OxonStat supports numerical data for each column. Double clicking on the heading for a column allows you to choose a name for it and a Data Type allowed (see Column properties). The data type is shown on the top right hand side of the column, so you know at any time what can be entered into a given column.

Copy and paste

Obviously, you can also copy and paste data from other applications.

When pasting data from an external application into a Dataset that already has data, OxonStat will convert the data pasted to match the existing column types. Data that cannot be converted will be set to missing.

If you paste into an empty Dataset OxonStat will automatically detect and set the column types to match the data being pasted.

Importing other formats

OxonStat can also Import data from a selection of different file formats, including Microsoft Excel xlsx files. (See File import)
