About

The non-parametric equivalent of the t-test, this procedure tests whether two independent groups have been drawn from the same population.

Requires

Y variables and X variables to be compared. Matched Y and X variables are allowed, see below.

Feature

Two separate variables can be compared with one or more main filters selected if desired (as with other tests).

To compare two groups of observations within the same variable, first set the X variables and Y variables to the same Column(s), then use the X filter and Y filter to select the desired observations.

Parameters

Mann Whitney U dialog

Variables

Select one or more Y variables and one or more X variables (See Selecting variables for details). Output will be produced for each pair of Y and X variables, dependant on the block mode selected.

Block Mode

Defines how the Y variables and X variables are compared. (See Performing multiple analyses for details)

Options

Y filter

Allows a filter to be specified that will select rows for the Y variable.

X filter

Allows a filter to be specified that will select rows for the X variable.

Subtitle

Allows you to specify an optional subtitle which will be included in the statistical output.

Filters

Man Whitney U dialog

Allows you to select rows for analysis based upon conditions in other variables (See Filtering datasets for details)
