About

This is used to derive various measures of distribution of the data.

Requires

Y variables to be analysed.

Parameters

Descriptive dialog

Variables

Select one or more Y variables (See Selecting variables for details). Output will be produced for each variable chosen.

Options

Graph

Allows you to choose a graph to accompany your output. Available options are:

<none>
No graph is produced
Probit plot
Generates a normal probability plot mapping your dataset's actual values against theoretical normal distribution quantiles (Z-scores) to visually assess if the variable follows a normal distribution.
Box plots
Presents a Parametric box plot (Mean, CI of Mean, Mean ± 1 SD, Population Range and Outliers) along side a Non-parametric box (Median, CI of Median, Interquartile Range, 10/90th Percentile and Outliers).

The default graph can be selected in Preferences

Subtitle

Allows you to specify an optional subtitle which will be included in the statistical output.

Filters

Descriptive dialog

Allows you to select rows for analysis based upon conditions in other variables (See Filtering datasets for details)

Buttons

?

Opens the help system for this dialog.

Dataset…

Sends the output from this analysis to a new OxonStat Dataset. See Dataset output for more details.

Print…

Sends the output from this analysis to a printer.

Cancel

Cancels the analysis and closes the dialog.

Screen…

Displays the output from this analysis in the Results window.
